EWS Master Planning Process
Earl Warren Showgrounds is currently engaged in a master planning process
to better serve the Santa Barbara Community.
Over the past 15 years, EWS has been engaged in multiple sessions of dedicated strategic planning
to chart a successful future for the Showgrounds. This includes assessing community needs, interfacing with the county master plan, assessing economic impacts and much more.
During this time the board bylaws have been updated, as well as the mission statement
as well as other organizational changes.
An RFQ was posted in 2024 and the design firm MkThink was selected by the Ad Hoc Committee selected by the board.
The Master planning process was carried out by a Steering committee also appointed by the board over the following 10 months.

The Master plan was presented to the board on August 27th, 2025.
The board will vote on the adoption of the plan in a posted meeting
